Access to Education

Quality education and the ability to access it is foundational to a healthy and successful life

We believe that education is the key to transforming communities and reducing poverty, suffering, and injustice worldwide.

Education plays a vital role in creating and maintaining a healthy and successful life, providing people with the skills they need to overcome poverty; protect themselves from injustices and disease; and live lives of freedom and opportunity. Educated citizens are citizens who are empowered to act as advocates for economic and social change. An educated population promotes a better-educated nation and an improved social structure.

There are many barriers that stand in the way, from the lack of nearby clean water or sanitary facilities to not enough money for textbooks, supplies, or uniforms—and much more. Whether we are removing barriers or providing educational programs ourselves, making sure children, youth, men, and women all have access to education and ongoing training is one of the most important things we do.
