The Transformative Power of Sponsorship

by | Oct 25, 2024 | Child Sponsorship, Enable the Children, General, Liberia

Child sponsorship through the Enable the Children (ETC) program supports children living with disabilities and their families by providing practical help, therapy, and hope. The holistic approach of the ETC program includes supporting children and youth through their educational journeys.  Tailored to the needs of each child, education might be participation in a traditional classroom, homeschooling, or vocational training, giving them the opportunity to thrive in the environment best suited to them.

Samuels’ Story

Samuel is a brilliant 13-year-old in Grade 10 living in northwestern Liberia. His is a story of determination and the transformative power of sponsorship.   Samuel lives with his single mom who works tirelessly at multiple jobs to provide for her family. Paying for his education has been a struggle because Samuel has always required special medical support.

Since Grade 2, Samuel has been a part of the ETC Program giving him the opportunity to flourish in his studies and have access to quality healthcare. The program allows him not only to thrive in his educational journey, but he has access to a prosthetic limb that allows him to walk confidently in life. Samuel sees his prosthetic as a symbol of his strength and resilience.

A Confident Future

Samuel is walking in confidence, actively participating in school life. He is excited for the future and is thriving academically. His mother is full of gratitude for the ways sponsorship empowers Samuel to pursue his education, knowing that he can focus on his studies without worrying about the financial burden that weighed her down in the past.

You can give a child hope for a confident future by sponsoring a child living with disabilities through the Enable the Children program today or through a gift to The Hope Fund.
