Behind every number is a name, a face, and a future. From Samuel in Liberia, who received a new prosthetic limb, to Gene in the Philippines, who was rescued from online exploitation and abuse at just two years old yet through therapy is showing remarkable enthusiasm for life, your generosity is rewriting stories of hardship into testimonies of hope.
Samuel received his first prosthetic limb when he was 4 years old. Two years ago, he outgrew it. Samuel longed for a new prosthetic limb, but the cost kept it beyond his family’s reach. World Hope International’s Enable The Children program responded by paying for a properly fitted replacement. Even before receiving it, the news filled Samuel with excitement and renewed hope.
Because water is life, one community in rural Sierra Leone chose to sacrifice the lives of some in the hopes of saving the many. Desperate for clean water they sacrificed young girls in an attempt to appease the gods and win their favour, but the clean water never came. Not until World Hope International drilled a deep borehole well in their community.
At just 2, Gene was rescued after she became the victim of her mother's involvement in the online sexual exploitation and abuse of children. At a young age, Gene was deprived of the love and care that every child deserves from their parents.
With the ongoing support of a World Hope social worker Gene is thriving at home and at school.
