As a teenager, Tanya sensed God inviting her into something much bigger than herself. She couldn't have explained it at the time—she just knew she was being called to serve Him in a global way. She had no idea where that journey would lead. Looking back, she can see how God was quietly preparing her to connect people with His work around the world.

Over the years, Tanya has discovered that some of her greatest joy comes from helping others see beyond their own backyard. She loves listening to people's stories, hearing what stirs their hearts, and helping them find meaningful ways to be part of what God is already doing in communities across the globe.

That passion is rooted in a simple belief: the way we show up matters. Tanya knows that sustainable development is not about "saving" people or making ourselves feel better. Instead, she has experienced the powerful transformation that happens when we work in partnership with others. Showing up humbly, ready to learn, to build relationships, and walk alongside communities as they pursue the future they envision for themselves. The beautiful part is that everyone involved is changed in the process.

For Tanya, Jesus is the model that shapes this way of serving. Throughout His ministry, Jesus cared for people's physical and spiritual needs together, never separating the two. That holistic picture of transformation continues to inspire how Tanya approaches global development—whether the work involves clean water, health care, protection, or sharing the hope found in Christ.

Her Wesleyan-Arminian faith has also been a steady influence throughout her journey. She finds inspiration in John Wesley's conviction that faith belongs outside the walls of the church. In the same way, Tanya believes we're called to meet people where they are, especially those who have been overlooked, marginalized, or enslaved. Wesley's passionate opposition to slavery and his influence on the abolition movement continues to inspire the Wesleyan commitment to justice, compassion, and advocacy - values that are reflected in World Hope's work to combat trafficking, provide access to nearby clean water, and life-saving health resources.

Tanya earned her undergraduate degree in Intercultural Studies in 2006. She then spent the next 12 years connecting people across North America with opportunities around the world. Wanting to deepen her impact, she completed a graduate degree in Organizational Leadership in 2019, learning new tools to support strategic leadership and meaningful change.

Tanya feels incredibly grateful to connect with Canadians who want to make a difference. She loves helping people discover how their gifts, resources, and faith can become part of stories of hope in communities around the world. Her hope is that people would see God's heart for the world—and discover their place in it.
