Tanya had been living at an orphanage since age 11 as both her parents are alcoholics and have had their parental rights removed. Tanya is studying to be a doctor and wants to major in labour and delivery. She is in her final year and will be leaving Hope House next summer. Her favorite class is surgery and she has a 90% class mark! Tanya would like to get a job at a hospital but if she is not able, she would like to work in a nursing home. Tanya has a heart for older, lonely people who need attention. She says “Babies have a mother and a father but older people need more attention and love.”
Tanya’s favorite colours are black and blue. She doesn’t really have a favorite food but she knows for sure that she does not like pea soup! Tanya thoroughly enjoys living at Hope House and says she often thinks about the people that sponsor her. She says, “If there was not a program like this, I don’t know where I would be. This program has changed me a lot. When I came seven years ago I was a good girl but couldn’t stick up for myself. And if anyone said something to me, I would resent them. Jesus has changed this for me.”
